Vanilla Whiskey Butter Latte

Vanilla Whiskey Butter Latte

Here's a rich, creamy espresso-based coffee drink that features butter and vanilla-flavored whiskey! This luxurious beverage perfectly balances the richness of butter with the sweetness of vanilla whiskey and the robust flavor of espresso, creating a truly decadent treat.

Jayme & I chose the "Lancaster Signature" roast from LCCR as the base for this recipe. This expertly crafted coffee provides a smooth, full-bodied experience, highlighted by a gentle citric acidity and a subtle sweetness. It turned out to be the perfect match for this indulgent creation!

We used an espresso machine to pull the shots for the base. However, if you don't have an espresso machine, coffee brewed in a moka pot or a robust drip brew will work wonderfully as well.

Here are the ingredients you'll need to make this drink:

Ingredients:

  • 2 shots of espresso (or ½ cup of strong brewed coffee)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1–2 teaspoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1-ounce vanilla-flavored whiskey
  • ½ cup (4oz) steamed milk (or your favorite milk alternative)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for garnish)
  • A dash of ground cinnamon or nutmeg (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the espresso: Brew two shots of espresso and set aside. If using strong coffee, brew about ½ cup.
  2. Melt the butter: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar until dissolved.
  3. Mix the whiskey: Add the vanilla-flavored whiskey to the butter and sugar mixture, stirring to combine. Heat gently for a few seconds but avoid boiling.
  4. Combine with espresso: Pour the butter and whiskey mixture into your brewed espresso.
  5. Add steamed milk: Steam or heat your milk, then pour it into the espresso mixture, creating a smooth, creamy drink.
  6. Garnish: Top with whipped cream if desired, and sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg.
  7. Serve: Enjoy immediately while warm.

We hope you enjoyed this creation as much as we did!   Let us know know your thoughts!
